What did you do last night?
Went to the movies with Darin and the kids, dinner afterwards.

How many hours a night do you sleep?
Usually about 6, 8 is a luxury!!
What is your favorite hour of the day/night and why is it your favorite?
Evenings, spending time with the kids and my husband after a long day at the office. It gives you time to appreciate what you have.
Where do you live now?
I'm here in Bakersfield. I moved away in 1990 to Oregon with my ex-husband and two oldest children. Returned in 1992. Darin and I now live...ready...east of Foothill in what used to be the orange orchards. They are all gone!!
Why did you move there?
Found a house that we liked.

Yes. There are still some orange trees on the property behind us and when the flowers are in bloom, oh, it smells wonderful!

Got married to Rick Elder...worked at Tenneco, West for a few years.

I had two children with Rick, Justin (16) and Kristopher (14). Then divorced. Found a wonderful man...Darin, and married in 1996. Some of you met him at the 10 year re-union. We now have two children together, Kyle (7) and Samantha (5).
Do you have a job outside of your home?
Yes, I work at UFCW Local 1036.
Do you like your job?
Is it the job you thought you would have when you were back in High School and you contemplated the future?
No. I always thought that I would work in an office. Never for a union.
If you could have any job in the world what would it be?
I already have it. Being a Mom.
What was your happiest day last year?
I had so many happy days, each one being a mom.
What is your biggest regret from the last 20 years?
Losing 10 years of family time with my parents and sisters due to my marriage to Rick. That was time lost, that I will never get back. Not being able to share the births of my two oldest boys with my family. Very difficult births that were life threatening to both me and the boys. Family is everything...Mom wasn't there to hold my hand and Dad wasn't there to do what all Daddy's do..protect their little girl.

Who were your best friends in high school?
I was friends with Lorraine, Ruth, and Vicki. We were friends from Hort Elementary when I moved to California from Ohio. We went in separate directions in high school. I was more interested in the older kids (Rick's group). Sometimes we don't make the brightest decisions. Lori and I were kind of on the same path...we married weeks apart, had kids and divorced around the same time. We worked together for a couple of years at Bernards and Sons...then we lost contact about 8-9 years ago.
Have you kept in touch with them?
No, I wish we had kept in touch. Life is too short to take things for granted. Family and good friends, they make the hard times in life go a little easier. It's good to know that if someone needs you, you are there for them, just as they are for you.
How is your life different than the life you thought you would have after high school?
As the Youth Pastor at our old church said, "Mom and Dad take a stupid pill when you are in your teens. Once you hit your mid twenties, they take a smart pill." It's amazing how smart they are!

Let's face it...pushing 40, wrinkles, gray hair, (Thank goodness for hair color!!!)...need I add anymore damaging info?
Are you nervous about attending your high school reunion? Explain.
Not really. I think. Let's see how I feel when the time gets here.

What is your favorite food?
Oh my, to choose...
Are your parents still alive? How are they doing?
Yes...they are getting older, as are all of our parents. They are amazing with my kids. As I said, 10 years lost, but now, they are here and it hurts to think of the time that I will lose them again. So I don't, and I enjoy watching them enjoy my children.
Are you happy with the way you look these days? Please explain.
Father Time and Mother Nature each have a lousy sense of humor. Ha ha!
If you won the lottery what would you do with the money?
Try to make life a little more comfortable for the children who are less fortunate.
Are you religious? Spiritual? Agnostic? Is there a God?
I was not raised in church. Darin was raised Pentecostal. We are now at a place in our lives which would be considered a meeting in the middle. Jesus is an important part of our lives, and it is by HIS love and grace we have the two beautiful children that we call ours.

CSI, CSI Miami, Criminal Minds, Crossing Jordan, Law & Order, HOUSE, Las Vegas. Maybe I should have gone into law enforcement.
