What did you do last night?
We had my wife's family over for dinner.
What do you usually eat for breakfast?
I always have a cup of coffee. Sometimes I also have toast and a banana.
How many hours a night do you sleep?
Sleep is important to me. I like to get eight or nine hours.
What is your favorite hour of the day/night and why is it your favorite?
I like the early morning, when it is very quiet and I'm the only one up.
Where do you live now?
I live in Poway, a suburb of San Diego, California.
Why did you move there?
I moved to San Diego in 1990 after college for a job… and except for 15 months in the Bay Area in the early 90s, I've been here ever since.
Do you like living there? Explain.
I love it here – great weather, beaches, lots of stuff to do.
What did you do in the years right after high school?
I went to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, studying computer science.
Tell us about your family? Kids? Spouses? Lovers? Partners? Divorces?
I have been married for 9 years to my wonderful wife Andrea. She is an RN, and worked in the ICU and PACU before our daughter was born. Right now, she is a full-time mommy. We have one daughter, Sophia, who is 3 years old. She is great! I love to play with her and look at things through her eyes. We also have 2 big goofy dogs.
Do you have a job outside of your home?
I have been a software engineer for Qualcomm for the last 13 years.
Do you like your job?
It has its good moments and its not so good moments. As long as I want to be in this field, Qualcomm is the place for me – but at some point I will probably try something different.
Is it the job you thought you would have when you were back in High School and you contemplated the future?
I thought that I would have a job in engineering, math, or science – but I really didn't picture what my job would be like.
If you could have any job in the world what would it be?
Retired software engineer?
What was your happiest day last year?
Hmmmm… there were many fun, happy days, but nothing really stands out… My daughters third birthday was a lot of fun.
What is your biggest regret from the last 20 years?
Looking back, there are a number of little things that I would do differently in hindsight, but no big regrets.
Do you miss high school? What things do you miss about it?
Not really. I miss college more than high school
What is one of your favorite memories from high school?
Hanging out at the Page house for half the night, playing Risk, and watching David Letterman and late-night movies.
What is one of your worst memories from high school?
Nothing comes to mind.
Who were your best friends in high school?
Mark Allison and Joey White. Also some guys from the class of '87: Steve and Ernie Page and Steve LoBasso.
Have you kept in touch with them?
Every once in a while I have contact with Mark Allison or Steve LoBasso.
How is your life different than the life you thought you would have after high school?
I don't think that I knew what to expect when I was in high school.
Who was your favorite teacher?
I liked Mr. Slagle and Mr. Love – they were both very creative with their projects. It made the classes more interesting.
What was the biggest life lesson you learned in high school?
There is more to life than just the academic stuff… I think I was pretty one-dimensional in high school. My experiences in college gave me a completely different perspective on what is important in life.
Who was your favorite pop music band in high school?
Tough call… A-ha… Wham… Madonna… It's hard to pick who was my favorite.
Why do you want to attend a high school reunion?
It would be great to see everyone and find out what they've been up to.
Why do you NOT want to attend a high school reunion?
I would love to attend, but we already have Thanksgiving plans.

Biggest fear is forgetting someone's name who I should know.

It's not bad. More thought-provoking than I anticipated.
Do you have any tattoos? What are they?
What is your favorite food?
I love all sorts of food: Mexican, Italian, Thai, Cajun, Chinese, Indian. I love spicy food best.
Are your parents still alive? How are they doing?
My mom died four years ago. My dad is doing well. He retired from teaching at Foothill some time in the mid 1990s and he lives up in Tehachapi now.
Are you happy with the way you look these days? Please explain.
If you won the lottery what would you do with the money?
First, I would make sure there was enough for my daughter to go to college and for my wife and I to live comfortably in retirement. After that, I would travel. Maybe get a vacation house in Mammoth, Tahoe, or Baja.
Are you religious? Spiritual? Agnostic? Is there a God?
I am not a member of any organized religious group.
What do you watch on TV?
I like to watch sports on TV. I also watch "The Daily Show" and "The Office" and a bunch of kids shows.
What are your all-time favorite movies?
Another "favorite"question… This is tough. I like movies that move me. Also, I haven't watched too many new movies in the last few years. Some of my favorites are: Philadelphia, Cinema Paradiso, Life is Beautiful.
In what ways have you changed the most from high school?
I think I have a completely different perspective on life. I think I am more "well-rounded" now.
In what ways are you the same from high school?
I'm still a geek.
Tell us about three of your happiest experiences since leaving high school.
Well, the top two are my marriage and having a daughter. For the third experience, I'll pick one of our vacations… Some friends of ours have a houseboat at Lake Powell, and we've been out there a number of times. It's great – a week or two out on the water, waterskiing, wakeboarding, exploring with jet skis, just relaxing.
What do you like most about yourself?
I am comfortable with myself.
What would you most like to change?
I procrastinate too much.
Do you talk on your cellphone while driving?
Yes. I have a stick shift so I use the hands-free kit.
Tell us something that very few people know about you.
I fantasize about sailing around the world, visiting remote and exotic ports of call. Too bad I get seasick.
What would you like to happen at the reunion? What would leave you satisfied? What do you NOT want to happen at the reunion?
I would just like to catch up with everyone.

Though I didn't participate in any high school athletics, I like sports a lot. My favorites are wakeboarding, skiing, volleyball (both indoor and 2-man sand), rock-climbing, cycling.
